About Aqualytics

👋 Hi, I'm Robert, creator of Aqualytics. I started writing code back in ninth-grade biology, when I learned you could program those school-issued TI-83 graphing calculator. Back then, I was cobbling together little programs to get me through math class (or play SkiFree, I admit). I've learned a few new programming languages since then and upgraded my hardware a bit.

I learned the power of web software at my first job out of college, where I was working for a researcher. My job was to keep his data in order... so many spreadsheets! We were emailing spreadsheets around, trying to keep track of who was editing what, when a friend of mine recommended I learn Ruby on Rails. I was hooked: I stayed up late rebuilding our systems so that people could work freely and our data stayed cleaner.

My love for web development led to me to some awesome product-based companies. First was Planning Center, where I learned the joy of delighting the customer with a powerful, fast, and reliable system. After that, I worked at GitHub on planet-scale, mission-critical business software. Working on the platform team, I learned how to design resilient, scalable systems and keep them running at their best.

In 2022, I had the opportunity to help a local water treatment company reconsider its office software. I wasn't impressed with our options, and I knew that something better was possible, so I started Aqualytics: a simple, cloud-based app for creating great water treatment reports. Since then, we've continued expanding product and updating our technology so that we can help you save time and serve your customers well.
